What are the eligibility criteria for the Federal Skilled Worker Program?

The Federal Skilled Worker Program, managed through the Express Entry system, uses a points-based selection grid. You need at least 67 out of 100 points to be eligible.

Selection criteria include:

Education: Credentials must be evaluated through an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA).
Work experience: At least one year of continuous full-time skilled work experience within the past 10 years.
Language ability: Proof of proficiency in English and/or French through recognized tests (IELTS, TEF, etc.).
Age: Younger applicants receive higher scores.
Valid job offer: Adds bonus points, especially if supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).
Adaptability: Includes spouse’s education or experience, and family ties in Canada.
