Permanent Residence in Quebec: Three New Pilot Programs Implemented – MIFI has implemented three new pilot programs in order to obtain a CSQ for permanent residence. These programs have several conditions, including education and French language requirements. Here is a brief description of each program:
- Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Food Processing Workers: This program came into effect on March 24, 2021 and is for temporary foreign workers in the food processing sector who are employed in Quebec and have acquired at least 24 months of work experience in the province.
- Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Orderlies: This program is intended for orderlies employed in Quebec who have acquired either 24 months of work experience in Quebec (work stream) or a DEP in Quebec and 12 months of work experience in Quebec (study-work stream). The program came into effect on March 31, 2021.
- Permanent Immigration Pilot Program for Workers in the Artificial Intelligence, Information Technologies and Visual Effects Sectors: This program is aimed at foreign workers and Quebec graduates in artificial intelligence as well as foreign workers in information technologies and visual effects who hold or have accepted a job in this sector in Québec. The program has the particularity of offering a “francization” profile for candidates who do not have the required level in French. The program will come into effect on April 22, 2021.
Permanent residence in Quebec: suspension of the Investor Program extended – As part of the program reform undertaken by the Government of Quebec, the Ministry has announced the extension of the suspension of the receipt of applications under the Investor Program until April 1st 2023.
